~A Veteran~

A veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to The United States of America, for an amount of "Up to and including my life". That is honor, and there are far too many people in this country who no longer understand it. - Author Unknown

BEWARE OF THE SEIU (SERVICE EMPLOYEES INTERNATIONAL UNION)

Has anyone noticed that many of the "supporters" of the healthcare bill that just 'show up' and are bussed in--come from the Chicago area? At least if it is a Town hall meeting up North close enough to commute the drive.

BEWARE OF THE SEIU (SERVICE EMPLOYEES INTERNATIONAL UNION)

What is the SEIU? What do they want? Where did they come from? Well, I will tell you. The SEIU formed in 1921 (Cue the music) when members of seven small janitor unions dared to dream they could build their strength by forming a single organization, the Building Service Employees International Union. The BSEIU, a union of mostly immigrant workers chartered by the then-AFL, changed its name to Service Employees International Union (SEIU) in 1968. Chicago-based Local 1, SEIU's first local union, is still organizing janitors and security officers today.

Mission Statement: The SEIU vision is of a society where government plays an active role in improving the lives of working people. To achieve this vision, we (The SEIU) must organize unorganized service workers, extending to them the gains of unionism while securing control over our industries and labor markets. We must build political power to ensure that workers voices are heard at every level of government to create economic opportunity and foster social justice.

THAT, coupled with Obama, is how the government tried to take over all three auto industries. They almost succeeded except Ford escaped the trap. Now note as overall control of Government Motors and Chrysler has been handed over to the Unions. Is it any coincidence? No, this is part of the plan, part of the agenda, to put unions in control over the evil industries, and “nationalization” is the means they are using to do it.

It is right there in the mission statement of the SEIU, their goal is to take over the industries and the labor markets. And this is what Obama and the democrats want too. They have been saying it all along, but we have been too casual to notice or be afraid that they might one day pull it off. THEY ARE PULLING IT OFF RIGHT NOW WITH THE LARGEST POWER GRAB IN UNITED STATES HISTORY!

Please read on:

The SEIU's membership has grown from 625,000 in 1980 to more than 2 million today. At a time when the majority of organized labor was shrinking, SEIU was aggressively uniting workers' strength - largely in the fast-growing service industries. In 2000, SEIU had united 1.4 million members, to become the largest and fastest growing union in North America.

The SEIU represents more immigrants than any other union, and its membership is among the most diverse in the labor movement. Due to political and progressive concerns, The SEIU and four major unions disaffiliated from the AFL-CIO in the summer of 2005.

At a historic founding convention in St. Louis on September 27, 2005, SEIU, along with 6 other unions representing 5.5 million workers--the Teamsters, UNITE HERE, the United Food and Commercial Workers, the Laborers, the Carpenters and the United Farm Workers--formed the Change to Win Federation to develop joint strategic organizing campaigns to help ensure that workers, not just executives and stockholders, benefit from today's global economy.

Please link to where you found this mission statement. The only place I could find it was on your site. Otherwise, I found a lot of local's mission statements about improving the lives of workers and giving them dignity. Which doesn't sound so darn bad. www.seiu.org Thanks.

My, my seiu.org does not even know their own mission statement. Goes to show the ignorance of the third-party business which wants to represent hard working people in the workplace. Union way- no vote, give me your money and shut up.

SEIU under HISTORY gives the full representation of what it was 'suppose' to be as a union.
However now it is the runner-up for fellacio givng to Obama next to ACORN.
